Historians have written that the last Pharaoh of Egypt would bathe in fermented donkey milk for hours to achieve soft, supple, goddess-like skin.  Whether it’s true or not, it’s incredibly believable that Cleopatra did very well bathe in “sour” milk due to the incredible benefits of fermented milk that we now know.  Fermented milk products like yogurt, sour cream, kefir, etc. all develop lactic acid, a fabulous chemical exfoliant for the skin. You can find lactic acid in the ingredients list on some of the high-end skincare products we reach for today.

Fermented milk products are also great sources of probiotics that assist in your skin, gut, and vagina’s overall health and well-being. It is also said that she added honey and lavender to her baths. I’ve adapted this bath recipe to my liking over time. Recently I included Kefir, and let me tell you, it is a game-changer. It left my skin sooo soft 😍.  I like to add rose petals to charge the bath with a feminine essence. I also use essential oils that balance out my sacral chakra and salt for detoxification. If you want your skin to radiate like the goddess you are, enjoy this bath as you please, alternating the ingredients as you desire.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter of plain Kefir (animal or non-animal sourced)
  • 2 handfuls of freshly-washed rose petals
  • 1 generous scoop of pink Himalayan salt (or Epsom Salt)
  • 20 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil or whatever essential oil you desire
  • 12 drops of lavender essential oil or fresh lavender
  • 12 drops of vanilla essential oil
  • 3 tablespoons of Honey
  • Tons of candles
  • Sensual Sweet Talk playlist

Undress, light your candles, and run your bath water on mid-heat. Add your oils, salt, and honey. Mix with a wooden spoon (or your hand). Next, add the entire liter of Kefir, mix again. Lastly, sprinkle the rose petals on top and press shuffle. Now you’re ready to luxuriate like Cleopatra. Let me know how you enjoyed this bath recipe below, XO.
